Fuck Yeah, Tibet!

All things Tibetan that we love.

བོད༏

Sights, scenes and sounds from the land and people of the nation under illegal occupation of the Chinese government.

The Kalachakra for World Peace, a series of teachings offered by His Holiness the Dalai Lama, is taking place right now in the holy land of Bodh Gaya, India (the Buddha attained enlightenment there) from January 1-10.
It’s a major event that each time attracts hundreds of thousands of people from all walks of life from different parts of the world. Most of my friends in India are there, my mother wouldn’t miss it for the world, and here I am writing a post about how much I wish I was there to experience the event myself. I did once (almost) attend a Kalachakra many many years ago, but it got cancelled because Kundun fell under the weather. But even if it had happened, I’m pretty sure I’d have failed to even appreciate the teachings, being the restless, impatient child I was back then.
Anyway, thanks to modern technology (I wonder when people will begin to finally take it for granted and stop using that phrase), I can watch Live webcasts of the teachings! Or since the time difference makes that difficult, the videos will always be available somewhere for viewing later. Personally, I am relying on this YouTube account for the updates.
I wish everyone in Gaya a safe and blessed stay. I really hope each of them comes out of the teachings with something meaningful embedded in their hearts. In the last video I watched of His Holiness addressing the Tibetans who’ve come from inside Tibet to receive the teachings, he asks his fellow Himalayans to be happy, to not let troubles and worries consume you whole for they are but temporary and man-made, and what man makes, man can overcome.
